Soil Wine Company

Good wine grows here.

Soil Wine Company is a neighborhood wine bar and bottle shop rooted in culture, curiosity, and good company.

Our glasses and shelves bring together wines from classic and emerging regions, with a spotlight on BIPOC producers and the stories behind their bottles. Add signature cocktails, thoughtfully paired charcuterie, and a calendar of experiences worth gathering for, and you have a place designed for discovery and connection.

Come for a glass. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a bottle worth sharing.

Why Soil?

Wine begins long before the first pour. It begins in the soil.

The land shapes what grows, giving each wine a sense of place and character. We believe community is cultivated in much the same way: through care, intention, and the people who make a place their own.

Soil is our tribute to both. A name that honors where things begin and the possibilities of what they can become.

Rooted in Milwaukee. Inspired by the world.

Our home is on historic King Drive, where Milwaukee's Bronzeville and Brewers Hill communities meet.

It's a place shaped by generations of Black culture, creativity, entrepreneurship, and resilience. We're proud to contribute to that legacy while bringing the world's wine traditions, emerging voices, and new experiences to the neighborhood.

Our roots run deep. Our curiosity knows no borders.

The people behind the pour.

Founded by Tim Cole and Nate Norfolk, Soil brings together a shared passion for wine, hospitality, and creating spaces where people feel at home.

Tim, co-founder of Milwaukee Wine Academy, has helped make wine education more approachable and inclusive. Nate, a certified sommelier, brings a thoughtful perspective on wine selection and the art of hospitality.

Together, they're creating the kind of place they'd want to spend an evening: exceptional wine, genuine conversation, and an open seat at the table.

There's always room at Soil.

A bottle for dinner. A cocktail after work. A tasting that introduces you to something unexpected. A celebration with people who matter.

Whatever brings you in, we hope you find a reason to return.

Good wine. Good company. Room to grow.
